Composite panels are factory engineered panels used mainly for exterior cladding, partitioning, and load bearing walls and roofing elements in a wide range of non-residential buildings. Panels are manufactured on a continuous lamination basis with metal facings - usually steel or aluminium - encapsulating an insulation core. This composition offers a high degree of stability, rigidity and excellent load-bearing capacity. The thickness of the insulation can range from 40mm to 150 mm depending upon application and required insulation characteristics.
Secret fix standing seam built up systems have been used throughout the construction industry for many decades, maintaining a straightforward to design and installation install, with a low risk of water penetration. This is because there are no external penetrations of the outer sheet required and no end laps. In addition there are no exposed pierce fixings, therefore creating a simple strong roof or façade system offering outstanding performance and total versatility.
Roof penetrations such as rooflights, access hatches and smoke vents can be incorporated without compromising to the roof.
Secret Fix systems involve the mechanical fixing through the underlap of the profile into the roof structure, which is then covered over by the overlap of the profile. This removes any chance of leaks through the roof sheets as all penetrations are protected from weathering.
Profiled roof systems are best suited for roof pitches greater than 5 degrees. Generally in a 0.7 mm steel outer roof profile sheet, a 0.5 mm steel outer wall profile sheet with a 0.4 mm or 0.7 mm steel liner, aluminium outer sheets are available also. In between the liner and outer sheet we would install insulation depending on U Values, complete with a steel spacer bar and bracket system. This would then be fixed with integral colour headed screws and tapes as required by the manufacturers recommendations.
Mainly used on agricultural building this type of roofing is environmentally friendly asbestos-free, reinforced fibre content sheet that is virtually maintenance free and resistant to chemical attack, rust, rot, corrosion and is non-toxic. These sheets are available in a range of different colours.
We are able to provide aluminium, metal and plastic rainwater systems. The aluminium and metal options can be powder coated to a variety of different colours to suit your build.
Rainscreen cladding is a system designed to work to protect the structure of a building from the wind and rain.
Correctly specified, a rainscreen cladding system will provide insulating properties whilst controlling water, wind and fire.
The main reason for a rainscreen cladding system is usually down to the visual impact of the building. But the main reason for this type of cladding is for aesthetics combined with performance; weather-proofing the building and contributing to the overall thermal performance.
