Charles Trent Ltd is one of the UK’s largest vehicle recycling companies, with sites in Poole and Rugby. They use specialist vehicle dismantling and depolluting equipment to recycle over 95% of every vehicle.
In 2020, Charles Trent spoke to us about building a new high bay storage facility, to accommodate a further phase of their company expansion plans. Jade Aden worked closely with Charles Trent to design a 20,000 sq/f building with 12 metre eaves, located at Holton Heath Trading Park, Poole.
Despite the work being undertaken during the first COVID-19 lockdown, the building was delivered on time and on budget. This meant that the facility was operational just five and a half months after planning was granted.
The automated high bay storage racking system required a 2mm tolerance to the 50k/n concrete ground floor. We also installed a highly efficient LED sensor-controlled lighting system, as well as heating Via Air source heat pumps.
Due to the successful delivery of the project, Jade Aden has been appointed as the main contractor to build a 100,000 sq/f state of the art dismantling facility for Charles Trent, at their headquarters in Poole. This is estimated for completion by the end of 2021.
